This project will include designing a web site that contains the following things: Current information about the company, brands with logos that they carry, information for employees such as schedule for operations in inclement weather, important dates, and etc., also human resource forms that allow employees to change address, telephone number, etc., also a price list for customers only, and man order form for valid customers with a login.

I am a volunteer leader with the Boy Scouts and an Enterprise Architect with Wachovia. I am working to execute a service project and require a partnership to complete some of the programming aspects. Currently, I am providing web and email services for the Apache District and have all of the infrastructure components in-place: hardware, hosting, and network to begin design/development. The use of Open Source in private and corporate in a free market economy enables faster development cycles, better code, at a significantly reduced cost. This project will include designing a web site that is e-commerce site that will allow a customer to take a picture with a digital camera and upload the image to the website. Customers must be able to complete transactions through a safe and secure link. The project will involve two – three databases for storing information.

This project will include designing a web based interface that will provide an executive and a system administrator’s view of current system status and how this status affects the business units. The projects will utilize MS SQL Server 2005, Exchange 2003, Sharepoint Portal Server, and Microsoft Operations Manager.

The student will use software to help maintain and enhance the website for Caribbean Connections. The project will include adding text, pictures, updating news from various islands in the Caribbean, updating the calendar of events as well as enhancing the features already in place. This will take place throughout the course of the year. Current and incoming students will see the support and activities that takes place for students who are members of this organization. This project will require website maintenance and development of new sections of the existing website.

Write a program to inventory national freshwater fishes in North America north of Mexico. Write a program to import everything into JAVA, C++, Visual Basic, or a similar program. Write the program to do one or all of the following: First, list the country number and/or country name of the counties that contain a circle. If the sectors of a circle occur in two or more counts, count all occupied countries. Second option list the number of circles occurring in a country. Lastly, change change the size of each circle from what it is to 12 or some other specified size.

This project entails designing an application that will be used in a production environment for the Library Information Services. The technologies involved in the process include server-side programming, XML parsing, SOAP/WSDL access to XML databases and other resources in three languages (Java, php, and perl).

Develop and maintain website which will feature current outreach programs, volunteer forms, calendar of future events and projects. Site highligted by multi media plug in video of specific community focused projects. Access given to general public with links to state, county and local government resource centers as well as numerous community support agencies. An internal database will be set up which will maintain all clients information as to the services received and referral information. This database will store also the names of vendors, grant information, also a tickler system which will automatically cross reference program participants with a status updates as to clients updating of information and potential self development opportunities also an internal accounting system.

The project will assist with developing an online course called SPAN 2200: Spanish for Reading. Some of the tasks involved are as follows: 1) exporting some fifty files (possibly more) to webct format, 2) creating sound files out of Spanish reading passages currently in electronic format, 3) finding a solution for typing special characters in the webct environment.

Interactive website that will allow students to have interactive exercises. Such projects will provide feedback on student performance and be linked together to form an overall system for doing exercises.

Develop an intranet portal including a suite of administrative tools. The portal will contain login security features and preferences tied to MS SQL Server 2000. The suite will contain tools for automating administrative tasks, monitoring daily processes and reporting on business metrics. The suite will be supported by a MS SQL Server 2000 backend, running on middleware written in C# with a Macromedia Flash front end. Through the course of the project the students will be required to provide regular reports. They will also be required to comment all code and provide complete documentation.

Create Java applets to increase interactivity on educational website; self-organizing map to display relationships among sets of word meanings.

Develop program for timestamping audio with text; database and search strategy for retrieving video frames by text (adapt TRansana).

Assist a public relations practicum class in creating a website designed for public and education purposes. Public relations practium class will be working in conjunction with the Charlotte Sister Cities program and Heipei University in Baoding, China, to create two web pages. UNC Charlotte students will design a webpage, translated into Chinese, that will introduce the city of Charlotte to residents and students in Baoding, a Charlotte Sister City. Heipei students will be designing a comparable webpage that introduces Charlotte residents and students to Baoding. Both groups of students will also provide feedback to each other regarding the development of the other University’s Website. The class will be meeting 6:00-8:50pm on Wednesday during Fall 2007 semester. The project will continue into Spring 2008 semester until completed.

Design and build a new paradigm in user interfaces for online database design. The database engine will be MySQL. We will focus on building a GUI that will allow the novice to moderately technical person to build their own online database and post it on the internet. This project will require creativity and technical discipline to complete in 2 semesters. Please send me your resume and links for web sites you have designed. Design and implement an on-campus package notification system to automatically notify students of incoming packages by e-mail when scanned on receipt with a bar code scanner. Also design and implement a website to submit mail slips and bulk mail invoices.

Develop a Web site to act as a community resource on high-school football in Charlotte. The following information should be provided: statistics, scores, feature stories, in-depth interviews with players and coaches, an interactive message board. The student would also participate in:

• Creating and designing the website (charlottehighschoolfootball.com)
• Creating a logo
• Establishing initial media content for the 25 public & private high-schools in Charlotte
• Providing a means for posting scores from Friday night games
• Providing the means to update weekly player and team statistics
• Provide the means for posting feature stories on local players

This project entails redoing the UNC Charlotte’s club baseball team’s website. The new website should include a schedule, directions to their field, a roster page, player profiles, and pages about the history of the team.

Create and implement a website for Lunchbox Records. The features are to include a main splash page, concert listing of local venues, customer mailing list, and a message board. It should also include a secure web cart system for ordering products with an easy interface for adding, editing, deleting products.

Agape Christian Counseling needs their website, www.agapechrstiancounseling.org, redesigned.

The HCI will independently plan, design, and execute usability and focus groups for the J. Murrey Atkins Library at UNC Charlotte. The test subject is the J. Murrey Atkins Library web site (library.uncc.edu). The test focus is "how patrons find/retrieve resources they need for research." Participants should include students, faculty, and staff. The studies should go through the Institutional Review Board so the results can be published.

Expected deliverables include written observations, analysis and recommendations from each study including compilations of participant session videos (Morae) with corresponding status information. Reports and videos should omit personal participant identifiers, such as name, making the reports anonymous as possible.

Design and implement a game or simulation in Teen Second Life. The purpose of this project is to use Teen Second Life to create an educational environment for students. Some examples include historical immersions, interactive exhibits, social causes, language learning, etc.

This project will include designing a web site for Journalism 3160, to be offered online during Summer 2009. It will contain the following things: Course syllabus, course assignments and podcast lectures; chatroom capability and links to websites that will be utilized by students.

The project will involve web page specifications, design elements, content, data collection, and page creation. The student will work under the direction of Laurie Garo, Department of Geography & Earth Sciences and Director of the Youth Leadership Academy, with technical advising from Bruce Long in ITCS. The page will be hosted on the UNCC site once completed. The student is expected to introduce some basic web page functionality, for example user survey submission online, contact information, volunteer sign-up’s, fundraising and donations, etc.
