I was born in Turkey where I lived until I was 23 years old. I received my Bachelor's Degree from the Middle East Technical University, Ankara in year 1999. Since than I received my Masters' Degree from North Carolina State University, Raleigh NC and worked for US Environmental Protection Agency in Durham, NC for three years. In late 2005 I started school at University of North Carolina at Charlotte for my PhD degree in Softare and Information Systems. Currently I am working on several projects one of which will be my dissertation. I am interested in (Spatial) Decision Support Science, Human Computer Interaction and Intelligent systems.

My hobbies are ballroom dancing, reading sci-fi and fantasy books, hiking, mountain biking, table tennis, travelling and kayaking. I am currently part of Charlotte Dancesport which is the ballroom dance club at the UNC Charlotte. In addition I play keyboard and sing at a amateur Turkish pop band.
